"The resurrection was pure in it's intent, collect the forgotten and unwanted and cast them anew" |
Welcome to Desert Resurrections
I’m in love with the Desert and its canopy of endless blue skies. Amidst the natural beauty of Arizona I continue to discover unusual debris deposited and left to rust under the sun's rays. I find myself “shopping” through the broken glass and tin cans, poking and overturning the plentiful collection of metal bones. A message of a resurrection has been made clear to me as I uncover the thoughtless display of man. The resurrection was pure in its intent, collect the forgotten and unwanted and cast them anew.
When collecting materials, at day’s end I am dirty and exhausted, yet fulfilled with a double sided victory, one for the earth the other for the recipient of the creation. Each resurrected with hope, desire and purpose, a symbolic icon of prayer and faith for the human race. It is my intent to demonstrate that beauty is encased in all that may have been discarded and forgotten. There is a possibility of new beginnings for those whose lives may have been pushed aside by the world. We must remember to see ourselves and others through compassionate eyes. Seek to find the priceless work of art that may have been lost but still is in each of us.
Enjoy,
